Abstract

Computer-aided Animation Production (CAAP) is a tedius task, and it is believed that the CAAP must be automated to improve the overall efficiency.
This paper is an overview of the main work we have conducted in recent years, with a focus on three major modules-Knowledge-based scene design,
camera planning, and face animation. In the scene design, we developed a knowledge-and case-based method, in which a new scene is designed from
an existing scene evaluated and modified based on relevant scene design knowledge. In the camera planning, we developed a powerful shooting script
language, and implemented the language in the C++. In the face animation, we adopted RBF methods and a pre-designed MEL scripts.
