    This is a tutorial paper which presents schematically the concepts of information, uncertainty, and complexity, and their relationships in their applications to control systems. By focusing on exact or lower bounds on achievable performance in the presence of uncertainties,studies of complexity in a control system can potentially reveal fundamentally limiting factors of the system,suggext beneficial modifications to system structures and hardware configurations to remove these limitations,provide benchmark values for evaluating a design and for quantifying rooms for performance improvement,and demonstrate intrinsic tradeoffs.

    The limit inguages of cellular automata are defined and their complexity are discussed. New tools, which include skew evolution, skew periodic string, trace string, some algebraic calculation method, and restricted membership problem, are developed through a discussion focusing on the limit language of an elementary cellular automata of rule 94.

    In this paper, a bi-level formulation of the continuous network design problem (NDP) is proposed on the basis of logit stochastic user equilibrium (SUE) assignment with elastic demand. The model determines the link capacity improvements by maximizing net economic benefit while considering changes in demand and traffic distribution in network.

    This paper presents a simple two-period model of the innovation of financial asset by commission-revenue maximization exchange. The economic agents with meanvariance preferences take transaction costs in the process of trading the financial asset,the buying per-unit commission of the futures contract and the selling per-unit commission of the finanicial asset.
