In this paper, we give an order-preserving, isometric and isomorphic embedding operator from the fuzzy number space E~1 to a classical Banach space and show some necessary and sufficient integrability conditions of fuzzy integrals which were defined by M.Matloka and O.Kaleva by means of such an operator.

A nonlinear age-dependent population model, which allows for consideration of the effects of crowding and resource limitation, is presented. The basic properties of solution, such as existence, positivity, uniqueness, and ultimate behavior, are discussed. Also, the condition of stabilityand controll-ability of the nonlinear population system is obtained.

In this paper, the mathematical theory of fuzzy probability is used for the problems of rock mass mechanics due to excavation, especially mining.A mathematical model is developed for the movement and deformation of rock mass on the basis of the assumption that the displacement and deformation of rock mass is a fuzzy event, and from this model theoretical formulas are derived for calculating the displacement of rock massdue to excavation. The theories of both the two-and three-dimensional problems are developed and applied to the analysis of engineering problems in excavation. The agreement of the theoretical results with the field measurements shows that our model is satisfactory and the formulae obtained are valid and thus can be effectively used for predicting the displacements and deformations and the safety evaluation of the buildings on the ground surface.

In this paper we provide a sufficient and necessary condition for the eigenvalue and eigenvector of a general reducible matrix in a discrete-event system described by the“max”algebra, analyse the steady periodical performance of the system, and obtain ananalytic solution of the dynamic equation. We propose the conception of“order-d-\Lambda-block-periodical matrix”and obtain its sufficient and necessary condition and provide an algorithm of \Lambda matrix.

The splitting extrapolation is an important technique for solving multidimensional problems. In the case that error u~h-u has an asymptotic expansion of form Σc_αh~(2α), whereα=(α_1,…,α_s) and h~α=h_1~(α_1),…h_s~(α_s), the method gives an approximation involving less computer storage and less computational work in comparison with the classical Richardson extrapolation. In this paper we present a recurrence rule of the splitting extrapolation and discuss its applications in the fields of multiple integrals, multidimensional integral equations, partial differential equations and singular perturbation problems.

Let G_1 and G_2 be finite digraphs, both with vertex set V. Suppose that each vertexv of V has nonnegative integers f(v) and g(v) with f(v)≤g(v), and each arc e of G_4 has nonnegative integers a_i(e) and b_i(e) with a_i(e)≤b_i(e),i=1,2. In this paper we give a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of k arborescences in G_4 covering each are e of G_i at least a_i(e) and at most b_i(e) times, i=1,2, and satisfying the condition that foreach v in Vf(v)≤r_1(v)=r_2(v)≤g(v) where r_4(v) denote the number of the arborescences in G_i rooted at v.

In this paper, we discuss the accelerating convergence method for finite element approximation of integro-differential equations with parameters. As applications, we give the error estimates of finite element for the first kind of Fredholm integral equation, particularly for the Volterra integral equation with kernel condition k(x,x)=0.

In this paper the following problem has been completely solved: when is a map f:P(m^in)→CP~s homotopic to an immersion with codimension one or two
